Stranger Things play coming to Netflix soon

The First Shadow, which has been playing on the West End and Broadway for two years, will soon be available for streaming.

How to continue making Stranger Things without Stranger Things?

This is the challenge that awaits Netflix in the coming months. The series is over, but the group with the red N intends to continue riding on its popularity. So there will be the animated series, Chronicles of 1985, in a few weeks. And then a little later the spin-off live action series. But in 2026, Netflix will also put the play Stranger Things online!

Yes, it exists. It’s actually a prequel story set in 1950s Hawkins, which has been playing on the West End and Broadway for two years. Knowing that most fans cannot travel to New York to see Henry Creel’s youth, the play will soon be available on Netflix. The show is currently being recorded.

Stranger Things: The First Shadow is about to take a new step: the play will be broadcast on Netflix.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the New York production is being filmed this week for later release online. No release date has been announced yet.

The goal is clear: to immortalize the original Broadway cast before its departure scheduled for March 29. The performances were also suspended from February 10 to 14 to allow preparation for filming.

Written by Kate Trefry, based on a story imagined with the Duffer brothers and Jack Thorne, The First Shadow explores the origins of Henry Creel – future Vecna.

The play poses a central question: “Are monsters born…or do they become monsters?” We follow the Creel family as they try to start from scratch, particularly young Henry, a tormented teenager in search of a new beginning. His meeting with Patty, another misfit, seems to offer him a glimmer of hope. But a series of crimes soon shakes the city. Henry is then confronted with a terrifying truth: something inside him could be linked to the horrors that befall Hawkins…

In the cast of the Broadway version: Louis McCartney (Henry Creel), Burke Swanson (James Hopper Jr.), Alison Jaye (Joyce Maldonado) and Juan Carlos (Bob Newby), among others.
