Superman and Lex Luthor will team up in Man of Tomorrow
James Gunn announces a shoot next April for the new adventures of the steel man … and his acolyte.
James Gunn formalized the rest of Supermanwhich will be called Man of Tomorrowon September 3, by sharing an image taken from comics showing Superman alongside Lex Luthor in his famous Warsuit. In the DC universe, Lex designed this bionic armor to match the strength and powers of the steel man. If the visual suggested a new confrontation between the two sworn enemies, it now appears that Luthor will use, in fact, his exoskeleton to climb to the Superman level in the face of a much more colossal threat …

Invited in Howard Stern’s radio program on Siriusxm, James Gunn confirmed that the shooting of Man of Tomorrow would start in April 2026, with an outing scheduled for July 9, 2027, two years after that of the first Superman of the new DC Universe.
“It is a story where Lex Luthor and Superman must collaborate, in a way, against a much, much greater threat”, revealed Gunn, adding that it would be “As much as a film on Lex as on Superman”. The filmmaker said he was particularly enthusiastic about finding Nicholas Hoult, interpreter of Luthor:
“I love this character from Lex. Unfortunately I find myself a little. I wanted to create something extraordinary between him and Superman. I love this scenario so much.”
First chapter of the new DC universe orchestrated by Gunn, Superman has garnered $ 614 million at the world box office, becoming the biggest superheroic success of the year. The franchise will continue – before Man of Tomorrow – With season 2 of Peacemaker Currently on HBO Max, then the films Supergirl (worn by Millie Alcock) and Clayface in 2026, as well as the series Lantern Expected next year.
