The Assassin’s Creed series finds its hero
Expected in Euphoria next year, Toby Wallace will lead the adaptation of the video game for Netflix.
Almost ten years after the failed film starring Michael Fassbender, Assassin’s Creed returns to our screens in a new adaptation.
Netflix has lifted the veil on the casting of its future Assassin’s Creed series, based on the famous Ubisoft video game franchise.
Toby Wallace will play the main character. The actor seen in The Bikeriders, and expected as the new face of season 3 of Euphoria, will return to Netflix, six years after his performance in the mysterious teen series The Society.
Details about his role are still under wraps, but according to Deadline, he will play one of the main protagonists of Assassin’s Creed. The series will focus on “the secret war between two dark factions — one seeking to determine the future of humanity through control and manipulation, the other fighting to preserve free will. The series will follow its characters through major historical events, as they compete to shape the destiny of humanity.”
The series will be produced by showrunners Roberto Patino and David Wiener, alongside Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill and Genevieve Jones for Ubisoft Film & Television.
Filming is expected to begin in 2026 in Italy. No release date yet.
Since its debut in 2007, the Assassin’s Creed franchise has sold more than 230 million copies worldwide.
