The Fall of the President: the final film in the saga with Gerard Butler returns to TV, just before the series

Pursued by the FBI, secret agent Mike Banning struggles to survive in this third installment. Released in 2019 in theaters, this actioner will be back on TF1 on Sunday evening. Just before the launch of Paris has Fallen on Monday.

It is rare enough to be underlined: the diffusion of the series Paris has fallenthe French version of action films “The Fall of…” expected this Monday on Canal +, will be preceded by that of the latest opus to date… on TF1. This Sunday at 9:10 p.m., the first channel will offer The Fall of the Presidentunveiled to the public in theaters in August 2019. With Gerard Butler, obviously, but also Morgan Freeman head of the American state.

A duo that will not be in the French series, since they are Tewfik Jallab (Gears, Born Somewhere), Sean Harris (Prometheus, Mission: Impossible 5 And 6) And Emmanuelle Bercot (Polish) who will be the heroes, respectively as a secret agent responsible for ensuring the protection of an important political figure, as a terrorist and as President of the Republic.

Die Hard at the White House: How to make a remake without looking like one?

After The Fall of the White House And The Fall of LondonGerard Butler has taken up arms again in his role as Mike Banning, a taciturn and badass secret service agent, for this action film a little less inspired than its two predecessors, even if its drone scenes remain spectacular. His mission? Protect the President of the United States, Allan Trumbull, played by Morgan Freeman… But also survive a set-up.

From a simple fishing trip, Mike Banning finds himself pursued by the FBI. Alongside Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman, we can count on the presence of Tim Blake Nelson, (The Ballad of Buster Scruggs), Piper Perabo (Looper ) or Jada Pinkett Smith, who played the character of Niobe in the trilogy Matrix. But it is especially Nick Nolte (Nerves on edge) who won over the public when it was released, in the role of the hero’s father, a grumpy character who brings a bit of humor to this sequel which strangely lacks it.

Its director, Ric Roman Waugh, faithful to the actor when it comes to making him undergo missions that are more dangerous than the others, has however succeeded better with Greenlandreleased in 2020 in theaters. Moreover, the duo is currently preparing his sequel !
