The Frankenstein by Guillermo Del Toro will not be a horror film
The filmmaker even says: “I never make a horror film proper. It is never my intention.”
Guillermo del Toro revisits the myth of Frankenstein in his own way: with heart, but without horror.
During a discussion at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival with the Oscar -winning composer Alexandre Desplatthe Mexican filmmaker said that his adaptation of the cult novel of Mary Shelley will not follow the codes of the traditional horror film.
