The funniest moments from Friends according to Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow
“Why is it so stupid, Lisa? It’s so stupid!”
In a conversation for Variety, full of laughter and nostalgia, the two former Friends stars return to these scenes which, even years later, continue to make them burst out laughing. Lisa Kudrow first remembers the famous bagpipe scene in episode 15 of season 7, convinced that he will be able to show off his musical talents at Monica and Chandler’s wedding.
“I loved, with all my heart, that we were all cracking up, including me, when Ross played the bagpipes…” recalls the actress, who confirms that the cast indeed exploded with laughter while filming the sequence, which we also find in the final cut. Jennifer Aniston immediately decides:
“There’s nothing funnier than that in Friends I think…”
Kudrow points out that with each viewing, she completely loses it, especially when Phoebe Buffay reacts: “She makes this high-pitched bagpipe sound that’s totally wrong. She doesn’t even know what song it is! When I watch the scene again, I’m laughing with my mouth wide open!”
Another cult memory for the two stars: the Geller dinner, with the presence of Alec Baldwin, in episode 18 of season 8. Lisa Kudrow remembers:
“There was an oyster, and Alec said, ‘Here, eat that.’ I said ‘OK,’ and threw it on the floor. Then came Joey, with this response: ‘No, it’s horrible. I waited forever for the buffet. I almost slipped on a huge booger!’
The two actresses burst out laughing thinking about it. Jennifer Aniston blurts out: “Why is it so stupid, Lisa? It’s so stupid!”
And Kudrow concluded with a laugh: “He thought a booger the size of an oyster had come out of someone’s nose!”
Jennifer Aniston sums it up simply: “Oh my god, Matt LeBlanc was just incredible! What an actor! I played this not-so-intelligent guy so well…”
