The Karate Kid celebrates its 40th anniversary… and the end of filming
The new film has just wrapped production, according to Ralph Macchio.
It’s the birthday of Karate Kid…and he is 40 years old! On June 22, 1984, the young Daniel LaRusso arrived in cinemas. Almost half a century later, it is still just as popular.
Ralph Macchio blows out the candles on social networks and announces in passing that the production of the new film Karate Kid is officially over. Release scheduled for May 30, 2025 in cinemas.

Directed by Jonathan Entwistle from a screenplay written by Rob Lieber, the story will take place on the American east coast (far from All Valley) and will focus on a young boy of Asian origin. We imagine that he will learn karate… Jackie Chan, master of the 2010 remake, will reprise his role as Mr. Han. Ben Wang, Joshua Jackson, Ming-Na Wen, Shaunette RenĂ©e Wilson, Sadie Stanley, Aramis Knight, Wyatt Oleff and Jennifer-Lyn Christie will also be there.
Macchio will also appear in the sixth and final season of Cobra Kaiwhich will debut on July 18, on Netflix.
