The Last of Us: The shock sequence of season 2 compared to that of video games
Episode 2 resumed, almost plan for plan, the scene which upset the players of The Last of Us: Part II in 2013 on PlayStation.
12 years ago, the players of The Last of Us: Part II were in shock. Today, it’s the turn of viewers of the series to be speechless, in front of the brutal scene that will mark the story of Ellie and Joel forever …
Attention spoilers!
The lone wolf, hero of the post-apocalyptic saga, was killed in episode 2, in a cold and brutal way. It was Abby who took revenge, because Joel killed his father (in the end of season 1), the surgeon of the fireflies who wanted to dissect Ellie to isolate his immunity. As in 2013 on PlayStation, Joel was thus trapped by chance and this small group which tracked it, before being beaten to death with a golf club.

In the series, as in video games, Ellie arrives too late. Helpless, she attends the last sigh of her father of substitution, screaming that she will take revenge, that she will kill them all!
Some small differences are not to be noted: Tommy is not present in the scene, in the series, while he is there in the game. And then we will emphasize that Joel is killed with a fatal club stroke, on the PlayStation, while in the series adaptation, Abby pierces his throat with the metal rod which dissociated itself from the golf club in question.
