The latest Fast & Furious has finally found a screenwriter!
Fast Forever will return to its roots by placing the action in Los Angeles, on a script signed by the screenwriter of the Hunger Games prequels and Elusive 3.
Fast and Furious, final stretch. Vin Diesel made official on his Instagram account the arrival of Michael Lesslie to write Fast Foreverthe (announced) end point of the saga. “ 25 years old. Eight directors. Countless screenwriters, technicians and actors, each bringing something authentic to a saga that has survived fashions, cynics and time itself. It doesn’t happen by chance… It happens because people show up and give themselves to something bigger than any one individual », assures us the Baudelaire of Los Angeles. Michael Lesslie recently distinguished himself as screenwriter of the prequels ofHunger Games andElusive 3 (Ouch).
Vin Diesel teases a return to basics: “ There is a special weight that comes with making a finale. A responsibility that you feel in your chest, towards all those who made their contribution to get there, towards the public who stayed. We don’t take this lightly. We use it as fuel. And when we learn we’re going back to Los Angeles… to the streets where it all began, something starts to happen. The city that brought the first film to life, still there, still present. Go home to conclude. It’s not a question of logistics. It’s a gift. »
Los Angeles as a starting point and as an end point, the circle seems to have come full circle for a saga which has never stopped moving away from it only to return to it. Between now and the release of Fast Foreverscheduled for March 15, 2028 in France, it will have been five years since the last chapter, the longest wait between two films since the beginning of the franchise. The latest news is that Frenchman Louis Leterrier is still at the helm after having directed Fast and Furious 10.
