The little boy of the film Superman puts James Gunn in embarrassment

The director would have turned a member of the team, who came to help the young actor wear the Superman flag.

The first film of the DC Universe signed James Gunn has already brought back more than $ 600 million to the world box office, becoming the biggest superheroic success of the year.

Thanks in particular to his very intense final sequence, that of the battle between Boravia and Jarhanpur, in which a child brandishes a huge flagded flag of the “S” of Superman to call it for help.

AJ Bernard played this little boy. And during an interview given to Comic MISFITS Podcasthe told how James Gunn got upset on the set of the sequence, to the point of returning an actor to have it … helped. AJ Bernard explains:

“When you were shooting, I was struggling to lift this big flag. No one was supposed to help me during the scene, but someone came to lend me a hand. He was not supposed to do so. James Gunn cut, he got angry, and the guy was fired.”

His sister, Alaya Bernard, also in the casting of the sequence, confirms, laughing: “James Gunn turned a guy because he helped AJ wear the flag …”

This is an anecdote not very brilliant, especially since the little AJ Bernard says that the accessory in question weighed heavy. Really heavy.

“It was huge as a flag, like three stacked sticks: a large one, a means and a small above. So, it was very heavy”.

Alaya specifies that J should absolutely carry him alone, in this chaos scene. A highlight in emotion, which is not only part of the final, but has also been widely highlighted in promoting the film.
