The new Conjuring reveals the actors who will play young Warren

The next film in the franchise has found its new Ed and Lorraine Warren, to succeed Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga.

The Warrens are going to make their first communion…

The universe Conjuring will go back in time. While the filming of Conjuring: First Communion officially debuted, Warner Bros. has chosen the performers who will embody the young versions of Ed and Lorraine Warren, the famous couple of paranormal investigators popularized by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga.

Garrett Wareing (seen in Walk or die Or Manifesto) will lend his features to young Ed Warren, while Amanda Fix (Orphan Black: Echoes) will play Lorraine Warren. It should be noted that First Communion takes place well before the events of the main saga and will focus on the early years of the duo.

The film is directed by Rodrigue Huart from a screenplay by Richard Naing and Ian Goldberg. For now, Warner Bros. is keeping the synopsis secret and has not specified whether Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will still appear in the film…

Launched in 2013, the franchise has become one of the greatest horror universes in cinema. It has been enriched over the years with the sagas Annabelle And The Nunas well as The Curse of La Llorona and several suites of Conjuring. This new chapter will return to the origins of the Warrens, well before their first investigation shown on screen.

The teenage versions of Ed and Lorraine had already been seen in Conjuring: Judgment Hourwhere they were performed by Orion Smith and Madison Lawlor.

With this new casting, Warner Bros. seems to be preparing the future of the franchise. If Garrett Wareing appeals to audiences, they could reprise these roles in other films devoted to the Warrens’ early paranormal investigations.

Conjuring: First Communion is expected in theaters on September 8, 2027 in France. Before that, Warner’s horrific universe will expand with The Revenge of La Lloronascheduled for April 9, 2027.
