The horror filmmaker will redo a new adaptation of the saga resident Evil. And for him, there is no question of copy and paste video games on the big screen again. He wishes to offer an original scenario, without however “flout the rules of video games“, which he promises to be a big fan:

“It will be faithful to the Lore of the Games, but it is a different story. I will not tell Leon’s story, because it is already covered in the games. Fans already know it.”

In short, more Chris Redfield or Ada Wong. It will be an unprecedented story, with stress and zombies and possibly keeping Umbrella in the background.

resident Evil is originally a PlayStation game released in 1994, then focused on several platforms. The first cinema adaptation was released in 2002, with Milla Jovovich and Michelle Rodriguez in headliners. Jovovich then chained with Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004), Extinction (2007), Afterlife (2010), Remote (2012) and The Final Chapter (2017). In 2021, Johannes Roberts rebooted the franchise with Resident Evil: Welcome to City Connectionthat he wrote and realized.

In this new version, the director co -wrote the script with Shay Hatten. The film is produced and co -financed by Constantin Film. No release date yet.
