According to Associated Press (via Variety), militants of the Center for Jewish Nonviolence, an NGO opposed to the Israeli occupation, attended the attack. According to them, “A group of 10 to 20 masked settlers attacked it as well as other Jewish activists, with stones and sticks. They broke the windows of their car and punctured their tires“. Abraham also shared a video showing these same settlers, according to him, to American activists.
The documentary No Other Land tells the story of a Palestinian West Bank family threatened with displacement after the destruction of their house by the Israeli government. It was filmed between 2019 and 2023 by an Israeli-Palestinian collective (two Palestinians, Basel Adra and Hamdan Ballal, and two Israelis, Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor) trained by journalists and activists who met on the ground and became friends.
Since his presentation at the Berlin Festival in 2024, where he received two awards, the film has been the subject of a controversy in Israel (where Yuval’s speech was described as anti -Semitic) relaunched by his victory at the Oscar for the best documentary in early March. The four directors had taken advantage of the ceremony to denounce the current destruction in Gaza and request a solution to two states to end the conflict and ensure peace.
