Three new episodes of The Simpsons will be released on Disney+ this summer
Three episodes exclusively produced for the platform.
Oh damn!
Simpsons fans can see each other all summer on Disney+. The platform has just announced the arrival of three new exclusive and completely new episodes, which will enrich the collection already available for streaming.
The first, titled The Simpsons: Extreme Makeover: Homer Edition, will be posted online on June 17. In this double episode, a romantic evening between Homer and Marge turns into a fiasco “when Marge learns that Homer has left the children only under the surveillance of a camera. Frustrated by her imperfect husband and under the influence of alcohol, Marge fantasizes about different versions of Homer.”
On July 3, it’s time for Simpson, a special episode with a dark tone. The story follows Marge Bouvier, “a penniless con artist, is sent to Italy to convince Seymour Skinner, a rather gullible rich man, to return home, she lets herself be seduced by the splendor of his opulent lifestyle. But there is a big downside: Homer Simpsley, the clingy and stupid guest of the Skinners, who lives off the family. Lies, lust and Italian liras are there in this “Simpsons black’.”
Finally, on August 26, Disney+ will offer Yellow Mirror. This episode will tell us about “a faulty lamp that reveals a heartbreaking truth about what Homer believes to be reality, while a tablet equipped with artificial intelligence befriends Maggie and takes control of her. The Simpsons try as best they can to find the light through two dark tales, both curious and strange.”
These three new features will join previous special episodes produced for Disney+, including Yellow Planet, The Past and the Furious and O C’Mon All Ye Faithful. The 36 seasons of the series as well as The Simpsons Movie also remain available on the platform.
