What are we watching this weekend? Gilles Lellouche shipwrecked, James Bond vs Ethan Hawke, the nugget of Apple TV+…
Cinema, streaming, VOD, TV… Find advice from the editorial staff every Friday.
The film in theaters: Suddenly Aloneby Thomas Bidegain
By adapting the best-seller by Isabelle Autissier, the screenwriter ofA prophet signs a gripping thriller, while offering its actors the opportunity to surpass themselves. Gilles Lellouche and Mélanie Thierry shine with intensity as a couple of castaways trying to survive on an icy island.

The film on TV: Dying can wait
Okay, but then, Dying can wait, do we like it or not? Two years later, it’s time to take stock, with a clear head. Certainly, the film is too long, Rami Malek is too soft, and you have to digest the image of 007 saving the world with a cuddly toy on his belt… But there is still something to rejoice about: the insane intro to Matera, the brilliantly deadpan Daniel Craig of the sequences in Jamaica, a Felix Leiter of the great days, intoxicating references to On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, not to mention the passage of the Paloma tornado… Let’s see the glass (of vodka martini) at half full.
Watch No Time to Die Friday at 9:10 p.m. on France 2
Series : Slow Horses season 3
Bottle of whiskey hanging on his belt, Jackson Lamb sets off on a mission again. And this time, it’s personal! MI5 misfits are back to find Catherine Standish, who has been kidnapped. Around a Gary Oldman in top form, the spy series confirms that it is indeed one of the nuggets of the platform.

The film in streaming: The World After Us by Sam Esmail
The fall of civilization hangs before us: Sam Esmail, the creator of Mr. Robot, explores his obsession with hacking with a semi-satirical thriller almost behind closed doors. He brings together a great trio of actors (Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke and Mahershala Ali) for this film which looks like an XXL episode of The Fourth Dimension.
Watch The World After Us on Netflix
The film on VOD: Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning part 1 by Chris McQuarrie
Tom Cruise vs AI. The plot of the last episode of Mission Impossible had anticipated the news with flair, but not the “Barbenheimer” tsunami which swept away everything in its path this summer, notably preventing Ethan Hawke from doing his crazy stunts in IMAX. While waiting for its revenge in the cinema (filming of MI8 has not yet resumed), this great pure action shoot is getting a second chance on DVD and VOD.
Watch Mission Impossible 7 on VOD on Première Max
Video game of the week: Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
Waiting Avatar 3 in 2025, immerse yourself in this open world game that is not free from flaws (its repetitiveness and its somewhat boring side quests), but which more than compensates with a fairly astonishing immersion in the lush universe of Pandora. You will never have been closer to becoming a Na’vi.
Play Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
The documentary: Robert de Niro, the weapon of silence
After his captivating portrait of Al Pacino (The Bronx and the fury, already on Arte), Jean-Baptiste Peretie is interested in the paradox of De Niro, who became a legendary actor while remaining extremely secretive, hiding behind his often violent roles. In particular with his friend Martin Scorsese, who, Mean Streets has Killers of the Flower Moonlargely contributed to writing his legend.
