Will Orlando Bloom be back with Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean 6?

The return of Will Turner in Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is it still possible?

Orlando Bloom has just sowed doubt. Present at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival, the actor was interviewed by Entertainment Weekly on the sixth installment of the Disney saga. And for the moment, he has obviously not been contacted by the producers.

Bloom spoke nostalgically about his former franchise partners, including Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Keira Knightley and Jack Davenport, whom he described as “a really great group of people”. But when it comes to his possible return in the shoes of Will Turner, the actor remains much more cautious: he assures that he has not heard from the team of Pirates of the Caribbean 6.

The actor also believes that nostalgia partly explains why producers and audiences “keep coming back” towards these old franchises. And it’s hard not to think of the pirate saga, including the latest film, Salazar’s Revengealready dates back to 2017.

Orlando Bloom still in contact with Johnny Depp

Orlando Bloom nevertheless specifies that he has remained close to Johnny Depp, with whom he is still in regular contact:

“I keep in touch with him from time to time because he’s amazing”he confides.

The actor especially keeps very positive memories of their years spent together on the Pirates of the Caribbean : “It was so much fun, and it was definitely something that was in the spirit of the times.”

From there to confirming the return of Jack Sparrow, there is still one step. For the moment, there is no official indication that Johnny Depp will reprise the famous pirate costume.

But producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s statements at least leave the door ajar.

Disney officially announced the development of Pirates of the Caribbean 6from 2018. After several years of turbulent development, the scenario is still being written. The return of Orlando Bloom like that of Johnny Depp therefore remains a possibility at this stage, but certainly not yet a certainty.
