13 years after The Office, Steve Carell found John Krasinski for Blue et Cie… and made him cry!
“I am very honored to be a part of it. I will do whatever it takes,” the interpreter of Michael Scott would have confided to his protégé.
If in the French version, these are Jose Garcia And Mylène Farmer who lend their voices to Blue and Blossom, characters of imaginary friends in the latest film of John Krasinskiin the original version, these roles go to Steve Carell And Phoebe Waller-Bridge. John Krasinski thus finds his accomplice The Officethirteen years after the departure of the character from Michael Scott from the cult NBC series.
From The OfficeJohn Krasinski has come a long way: after the youthful look of Jim Halperthe wore the three-day beard of Jack Ryanthe director's hat with, in particular Without a sound 1 and 2and even, briefly, the Mr. Fantastic costume in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, John Krasinski does not forget where he comes from, and it is with Steve Carell in mind that he embarked on the casting of his next film, Blue & Company (IF in VO).
The Office 2024: we know more about the new series that is being prepared
John Krasinski admits, he sees a little (a lot) of his former colleague in the character of Blue. For context, this imaginary friend is a big ball of purple fluffy fur, who sneezes when he is overcome by a strong emotion. For the director, the resemblance is obvious. He describes Steve Carell as “a person you want to run to and hug, and that’s exactly what Blue is”reports Slash Movie.
Beyond this touching testimony from the actor-director to his mentor, the reunion with Carell was moving. John Krasinski says:
“Even though I had a lot of fun working with him, the best part was that he arrived with the most sincere speech about how proud he was that I was making films. By reading the scenario, he said: 'I'm very honored to be part of it. I will do whatever it takes'. While I was prepared to laugh all day, I cried all day.”
A beautiful testimony of mutual admiration from the two actors who were both part of the cast which twice won the SAG Award for Best Cast in a Comedy Series.
Blue & Company will be released in theaters on May 8.
