24 Heures Chrono is back? A film project in the pipeline
But how do you make a film adaptation of a thriller that takes place over 24 hours?
Ten years after Jack Bauer’s last outing, in the limited series 24: Live Another Day (2014), the saga 24 Hours Chrono could rise from the ashes. A film adaptation of the cult terrorist thriller is in development at 20th Century Studios, Variety reports.
Brian Grazerwhich produced the original series, was already teasing the idea of a film last June. 24 Hours Chrono, “which we’re going to do in a very interesting way with Disney and Fox.”
The project is still in its early stages. Nothing has been ordered or made official, so we don’t know yet if Kiefer Sutherland would return to play Jack Bauer in the film. It is also unclear whether it would be a theatrical or platform film. Furthermore, knowing that the salt of 24 is due to its tempo, which takes place in (quasi) real time over 24 hours and therefore in 24 episodes, one wonders how it will be possible to keep it up 24 Hours Chrono in a 2 hour film…
Let us recall that the franchise had already attempted a failed comeback in 2017, with 24: Legacywithout Jack Bauer or Kiefer Sutherland.
