Surprise ! A new Peaky Blinders series ordered by Netflix
There will be a continuation, in the form of 2 seasons in the 1950s, with Cillian Murphy in production … but not in front of the camera.
No, the film Peaky Blinders will not mark the end of Peaky Blinders!
Steven Knight, the creator, had already hinted at him a few months ago, saying that he wanted to “take an interest in the new generation through a series whose events will resume after the Second World War”.
The idea is materialized today with a new series derived from Peaky Blinders, a direct suite, created by Steven Knight, which has just obtained an order of two seasons signed by Netflix and the BBC.
We understand that this new iteration in the universe of Shelby will take place after the events of the film, which will be intended to complete the history of Tommy.
Indeed, Cillian Murphy will not resume his iconic role as Tommy Shelby. He will not be on the screen but will remain involved as an executive producer.
We already know that the action will take place in 1953. The official synopsis announces a bloody struggle around the reconstruction of Birmingham, a city ravaged by the bombings of the Second World War:
“In a new era of Peaky Blinders, the race to control the immense reconstruction project of Birmingham becomes a brutal confrontation with mythical looks. It is a city of unprecedented opportunities and dangers, with the Shelby family at the heart of the battle.”
The Shelbys are back in business.

Produced by Kudos (Sas Rogue Heroes, House of Guinness) and Garrison Drama (manager of the six seasons of Peaky Blinders and the future film), the series will be shot in Birmingham, at Digbeth Loc. Studios. Each season will have 6 60 -minute episodes.
“I am delighted to announce this new chapter in the history of Peaky Blinders,” says Steven Knight, who specifies:
“Once again, it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city reborn from Blitz’s ashes. The new generation of Shelbys is driving, and the trip promises to be hellish.”
No release date for the two seasons yet, but we already know that the film Peaky Blinders, entitled The Immortal Man, will be released in early 2026 on Netflix in France.
Directed by Tom Harper, he will bring together Cillian Murphy, Stephen Graham, Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth and Barry Keoghan.
