The Franco-American actor is about to become the best-paid star of the moment in Hollywood.
According to the New York Timesthe actor of Dune And Wonka will touch an astronomical cachet of $ 25 million to play in High SideJames Mangold’s next film, a motorcycle turning thriller. This sum would even be a record: Timothée Chalamet would then become the youngest actor, since Jennifer Lawrence, to reach such a cachet for a single film.
High Side will mark the reunion of Chalamet and Mangold, after their collaboration on A perfect strangerBob Dylan’s biopic greeted by criticism and appointed eight times to the Oscars. Here, a change of register: the film follows the story of Billy, a former MotoGP pilot broken by an accident, who finds himself embedded in a series of banks … on a motorcycle.
The official synopsis says a lot: “Billy, haunted by a broken career and a father addict that he had to take care of, sees his brother Cole re -emerging, chased by the FBI. The latter offers to put his talents in the service of a team of robbers. Together, they chain the blows in small cities of the desert, until preparing a major breakage during a large parade of bikers …”
