The indoor film: Mickey 17 de Bong Joon-Ho
What to do after Parasite And his success so delusional (and deserved) that he had from the paranormal? A SF comedy dressed in political satire with Hollywood stars in there! Mickey 17 (or even more) amazed by the originality of his text which does not need to paraphrase K.Dick or Asimov to do well. It is a question of a love story where Pattinson Doublée mirges but also of almost celestial creatures and a constantly renewed death. So yes Mark (g) Ruffalo and Toni Colette swell a little but it is the lot of the stuffing! Bong Joon always very ho!
New to the movies this week
The series: Daredevil: Born Again
Years after the cancellation of the Netflix series (three seasons between 2015 and 2018), Marvel relaunch Daredevil in a reboot/suite where Matt Murdock, marked by a tragedy, faces a Wilson Fisk in full political ascent. Dark, violent and refocused on his hero, Daredevil: Born Again evacuate the aspect Soap Opera of the previous version and relies on a moral duel around justice and duty. Charlie Cox gains in intensity in the face of an imperial onofrio Vincent and if some lengths and visual artifices can annoy, this new iteration of the MCU holds all its promises.

The film in VOD: Anora from Sean Baker
Thousands of the films which pose with the arrogance of the upstart their big arguments on the banquet table, Anora (now available in VOD but also came out in the cinema), he preferred to draw the tablecloth and send everything waltz! Result: a palm of gold and 5 Oscars. “It’s too much!” Will say some! Whatever excess is not necessarily the enemy of good. This overflow is precisely Sean Baker’s course of action. Here a sex worker and the son of a Russian oligarch fall asleep in a large house by Coney Island … Noise, fury, breakage, love, burlesque … We go from Tex Avery to the Coen brothers via Lubitsch without apologizing … Baker, of which it is the eighth long, keeps the energy of rookie that puts everything in battle! Anora is a Comedy Screwball, the punk slope of laughter.

The film on TV: Thelma and Louise from Ridley Scott
Recently restored in 4K, the feminist epic of Callie Khourie and Ridley Scott returns to Arte. This road trip between friends of Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon, a true ode to freedom, both funny and tragic, had shaken the public in 1991. He will be followed by a making-of retracing in particular the battle of his screenwriter, and of his producer Mimi Polk, to impose on Hollywood this story of “heroines who respond by arms to male violence. Scott also evokes the second end imagined for this shock film still as hardying almost 35 years after its release.

The classic: Third -type dating from Steven Spielberg
When it came out NopeJordan Peele explained that his film belonged to the kind of ” Great American Flying Saucer Story ». There is no doubt that he was thinking of Third -type dating By saying this. The stallion meter of the “great American story of the flying saucers” is him, this absolute Spielbergian manifesto, a symphony of lights, wide eyes, starry nights, and music notes launched towards infinity. A classic, yes, but so bizarre and destabilizing, with his frankly creepy obsessive characters (Richard Dreyfuss building esoteric mounds in his puree) and his hallucinated pastoral tone, between ecstasy and panic, that we will probably never deplete it.

The short film: The man who was not silent by Nebojša Slijepčević
Bosnia, 1993. Embark aboard a train for an identity check of the Serbian army with an overpower that fits perfectly with the nervousness of Alexis Manenti. In a sound atmosphere punctuated by the cries and shades of dark colors, an agonizing camera takes shape. Resist or save your skin? Nebojša Slijepčević offers dizzying introspection in a daring reversal. A resounding success which offers him the Palme d’Or and the César for best short.
