The Studio: Seth Rogen buries a certain Hollywood in a hilarious satirical series (critic)

Did Hollywood hit the bottom with this film worthy of the parody The Studio?

The boss embodied by Bryan Cranston in the Apple series would approve this project.

In The studioSeth Rogen embodies the new chief of a big Hollywood cinema studio. Barely appointed, his boss (Bryan Cranston) requires him to produce a film on a very popular soda brand in the United States: “If Warner Bros can make a billion dollars with the plastic breasts of a pussy without a pussy, you have to be able to make two billion with a historic brand like Kool-Aid.“”

The satirical series to follow on Apple TV+ (and that we highly recommend) invents anything. Recently, we were treated to a comedy on the invention of pop-art (Unfrostedwith Jerry Seinfeld) and even a film on Cheeto chips (Flamin ‘Hotproduced by Eva Longoria). But these were productions intended to go out directly in streaming (on Netflix and Disney+).

We have again taken a step with a new project which seems to him for the cinema, detailed by Variety. A film on chocolates Hershey with Finn Witrock and Alexandra Daddario in the main roles, and the director of Mean Girls And Freaky Friday (Mark Waters) behind the camera. The shooting will start in May, with a release planned for 2026, even if the film has not yet a distributor.

Hershey is not at all known in France, but in the United States it is an institution launched in 1894. It is this legend that the film plans to bring to the screen, by telling the construction of this confectionery empire by its founder Milton Hershey (Witrock), and his wife Kitty (Daddario), and their philanthropic actions. In 1909, they created a school offering free education and accommodation to orphans or disadvantaged children.

“”Against all expectations, Milton was an immense success, but unlike many other rich men of his time, he shared his success with the workers and the community that surrounded him“, Explains the director of the film, Mark Waters. Obviously, he will not approach the child’s work scandal and slavery in cocoa plantations that splashed the brand in the 21st century …
