Chris Pratt lost his stunt double, Tony McFarr: 'I'm devastated to hear of his death'
The stuntman from Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was only 47 years old.
Chris Pratt posted a touching message on his account Instagramupon learning of the disappearance of Tony McFarr, his stunt double on several Hollywood blockbusters. They had notably worked together on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), by James Gunn, on the Jurassic World (2015-2019) or on Passengers (2016). He was found dead at his home in Florida on May 14. We do not yet know the causes of his death. He was 47 years old.
“I am devastated to learn of the passing of my friend and stunt double Tony McFarr, writes the 44-year-old actor. We made several films together. We also played golf, drank whiskey, smoked cigars, and spent hours together on movie sets. I will never forget his strength. I remember he took a bad blow to the head (for the opening scene of Guardians of the Galaxy 2), and after a few bandages, he was immediately back, ready to shoot. He was completely into it. On top of that, he was always a gentleman, very professional. I will miss him. My prayers go out to his friends, his family, and especially his daughter.”
Before becoming a stuntman, Toy McFarr began his career in Hollywood as an actor: we could see him in the series One Tree Hill Or Burn Notice. Apart from Chris Pratt, he has voiced other comedians such as Jon Hamm in the comedy Tagin 2018, or Brendan Fraser in The Poison Rose. He also participated in the stunts of the saga Hunger Games or those of the new Jumanji.
