Sylvester Stallone himself wanted to play Rambo Young using AI

According to the star, we could use the “de-aging”, this technology of digital rejuvenation, so that he can embody the soldier in his young years in Vietnam.

While a prequel film on John Rambo is already in development with Noah Centineo (the recruit on Netflix) in the role of the enraged soldier, Sylvester Stallone reveals that he too would have wanted to tell the youth of the veteran on the screen. How ? By digitally rejuvenating himself thanks to artificial intelligence, with the technology of “de-aging”, used for example on Harrison Ford for the first scenes of Indiana Jones and the Destiny Diara.

Guest of the Podcast Bingeworthy of The Playlist, the actor said he had pitched a pre that where he would have found his 18th birthday by the magic of digital de-aging:

“Everyone took me for crazy. But the technology is quite sophisticated to plunge back into Saigon at 18 and use the same image. It is not such a big gap.”

Because for Stallone, no actor will really be able to take over from his Rambo:

“It is very, very difficult. He may be able to do a remarkable job, but he will have to overcome the weight of the role. I lived it with Get Carter (remake of the film the law of the middle where he took up the role held by Michael Caine): everyone loves the original, and you always fight this prejudice.”

And Rambo is not the only Stallone icon to return to the big screen. Peter Farrelly prepares I Play Rocky, a drama on the genesis of the first Rocky, with Anthony Ippolito in the skin of Sylvester, while he decides to write the film. An announcement that surprised Sly: “I was shocked to learn the existence of this project. I have absolutely nothing to do with this film. As I lived this story, I thought I could participate and bring a little of my experience.” But the scenario is already completed, and its contribution seems useless …
