Timothée Chalamet would love to “make a film with Jacques Audiard”

Guest of the show France Inter, on the occasion of the release of Marty Supreme, the Franco-American actor expresses his wish to return to his origins.

Crowned best actor at the Golden Globes for his role in the film by Joshua Safdie, the youngest actor to accumulate three nominations for the Oscar for best actor since Marlon Brando, Timothée Chalamet has not finished making people talk about him. And for the French promotion of his new film, Marty Supremehe was inevitably questioned about his links with his father’s party.

I have my McDonald side, I have my Nike side, but also my French interpretation side.

Between American ambition and French complex, the 30-year-old star actor seemed to have made a choice. Like his character, Marty Mauser, a New York ping-pong player ready to do anything to succeed, the very ambitious actor is not afraid to display his desire to conquer the film industry.

But today, guest on the show France Inter, in a friendly informal manner and in slightly hesitant French, Timothée Chalamet wants to reconnect with his French origins: “I love being here, I love being in France”, says the actor, before adding: “There is a real appetite for cinema.”

If he apologizes for his clumsiness (“sorry, it’s been a few months since I spoke French”), the actor with dual nationality, big fan of Jacques Audiard, dreams of starring in a feature film by the filmmaker: “I would love to make a film with him you see. A Prophetit’s one of my favorite films. I would like to make a French film with Audiard.”

A French auteur film yes, but a great film: “If I make a French film, I would really like it to be a hit. (…) it shouldn’t be something too artistic, too contemplative!”Definitely the American origins of the actor are never far away…

At the same time, Timothée Chalamet is a big supporter of…AS Saint-Etienne. Guest of 8 p.m. on TF1, he wore the club colors with a unique jersey: “It’s beautiful, look at that green”.

The actor also spoke of his passion for the club on France Inter: “I love Saint-Etienne, I love the team, I love the club!” A passion with which he began his interview according to Benjamin Duhamel: “Just before this interview, we can say it, you were on your phone trying to find out the results of Saint-Etienne!
