An adaptation which will be produced for Netflix. Initially, it was Christian Bale who was circulating for the main role, but it was ultimately Sandler who would play this complex character, freely inspired by the true story of Jean-Claude Romand, this impostor made those around him believe for years that he was a doctor even though he did not exercise any professional activity.
The film will be directed by Scott Cooper (Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere) known for his intense and realistic approach to drama. The actor, who has long found Netflix a privileged creative terrain, alternates between mainstream comedies like Murder Mystery Or Happy Gilmore 2and more artistic projects like The Meyerowitz Stories Or Jay Kelly released last year on the platform.
For this remake, he will share the screen with an impressive cast including Willem Dafoe, and F. Murray Abraham, Gaby Hoffmann, Steve Zahn and Adam Horovitz.
