Netflix reveals the release date for season 2 of its Avatar series
The live-action adaptation of The Last Airbender will continue this summer.
While One Piece in live action has just completed its season 2, we will soon dive back into the world of Avatar, the Last Airbender.
Netflix has just announced the release date for season 2 of the live-action adaptation: the new episodes will be posted online on June 25, 2026.
And by the way, we are treated to a first video which reveals some behind the scenes images:
After the success of season 1 in 2024, Netflix quickly renewed the series for two additional seasons. Like the original cartoon, the adventure will therefore conclude with a season 3. Seasons 2 and 3 were also filmed consecutively: season 2 ended its production in May 2025, while the last salvo followed immediately.
On the casting side, we find Gordon Cormier (Aang), Kiawentiio (Katara), Ian Ousley (Sokka), Dallas Liu (Zuko), Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Iroh), Elizabeth Yu (Azula) and Daniel Dae Kim (Ozai). This new season will introduce a key character eagerly awaited by fans: Toph, the formidable blind earthbender, played by Miya Cech.
The plot will continue the journey of Aang, the Avatar capable of mastering the four elements. After learning waterbending, he will now have to turn to earth, while still escaping the Fire Nation and Prince Zuko.
Behind the scenes, an important change: Albert Kim, creator and showrunner of season 1, left his functions in April. Christine Boylan and Jabbar Raisani are now taking the reins as executive producers for the sequel.
