Absent from season 2 of Daredevil, the Punisher makes his comeback today in this video

First look at Jon Bernthal in the special TV movie “One Last Kill” on Disney+.

This is one of the big absences from season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. The brutal Punisher does not participate in the resistance against Wilson Fisk. Odd. But there is a good reason: he was busy doing his own show! A special TV movie is planned for Disney+ in May 2026.

In a new trailer for season 2 of Born Again, released by Marvel, the streamer offers fans a first glimpse of the Punisher’s new adventures. The trailer begins by showing the hell that has descended on Daredevil, before devoting its final seconds to a brief overview of The Punisher: One Last Kill. Frank wears his iconic costume, skull included, puts away a knife and glares at the camera while drawing his weapon.

In February, this special was described as a continuation of previous standalone Marvel projects, Werewolf by Night and Guardians of the Galaxy: Happy Holidays.

“It hits like a gunshot, but it also has all the emotion and pathos you expect from a Frank Castle story,” Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, told EW. “It’s really exciting.”

This time, Bernthal co-wrote the script with his We Own This City director Reinaldo Marcus Green, who will also direct the special. Hinting at a violent chapter for Frank, Bernthal told EW: “The story we’ve put together is really special. It’s the visceral, psychologically complex and ruthless version of Frank, the one that’s going to turn the audience’s back. Nothing is easy and all violence has a price, and we’re going to see that cost. I’m grateful that they’re letting me go where I really want to go.”

This promises a scathing TV movie. But Frank Castle shouldn’t bite the dust though, since he will be back in a lighter version alongside Spidey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, this summer at the cinema.
