This Game of Thrones villain joins the cast of The Batman II
Charles Dance will reign over Gotham opposite Robert Pattinson in the shoes of a certain Charles Dent…
After playing the formidable Tywin Lannister in Game of ThronesCharles Dance could well find a new dynasty to manage… but this time in Gotham.
According to several sources, the actor will join The Batman IIthe next film from DC Studios. He will face Robert Pattinson, who will reprise his role as a masked vigilante in this sequel written and directed by Matt Reeves.
A role tailor-made for Dance, recently seen in Frankenstein by Guillermo del Toro, and accustomed to the figures of powerful and manipulative patriarchs. In Game of ThronesTywin Lannister already embodied a cold and strategic authority. Gotham could well offer him a variation of the same register, corruption and urban politics version. Because even if nothing is confirmed yet, he should play Charles Dent, father of Gotham prosecutor Harvey Dent who will be played by Sebastian Stan. And in the family I also ask Scarlett Johansson who will play the wife Dent.
Note that Charles Dent does not exist in DC comics and was obviously invented for the film. His son, Harvey, obviously becomes the famous villain Two-Face, played by Tommy Lee Jones in Batman Forever and Aaron Eckhart in The Dark Knight.
The filming of The Batman II must begin in the spring, for a release scheduled for October 1, 2027 in theaters. The project is produced by DC Studios co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran, alongside Dylan Clark.
