Kate Winslet will star in the new thriller from the creator of Adolescence

The Unheard is presented as a Thelma and Louise story.

After the success of Adolescence, screenwriter Jack Thorne – who signed the event mini-series with Stephen Graham – is preparing a new thriller for Netflix.

This time, it will be the English star Kate Winslet who will carry the show. The Oscar-winning actress, who shone in Mare of Easttown in 2021, will share top billing with Maxine Peake.

Called The Unheard, this five-episode miniseries is billed as a revenge drama in the vein of Thelma & Louise.

Filming will begin next year.

Kate Winslet and Maxine Peake will play two sisters who go on the run after an act of revenge goes wrong. Hunted, they will have to try to escape their pursuers while the series will seek to understand what pushed them to commit this act and if they had really planned to go this far.

Already the screenwriter of Adolescence, Jack Thorne signs this new limited series, which therefore marks his reunion with Netflix. He is also currently writing the four Sam Mendes Beatles films.

The platform has not yet announced a release date.
