Friends leaves Netflix and will arrive on Max from July 1 in France
The cult sitcom is changing creameries. The Warner Bros. platform. recovers his goose that lays golden eggs.
The question was not if, but when. After pushing the deadline as late as possible, Friends will leave Netflix In France.
It's already been a few years since the sitcom, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, left the catalog Netflix in the United States and in many countries around the world. But the arrival of Max in France sounds the death knell for the French (and Belgian) exception. As whispered for several weeks, Friends will leave the French catalog of Netflix next June 30.
Because the Warner Bros. group. will logically take back his property. The studio which has the rights to Friends launches its streaming platform Max (formerly HBO Max) here on June 11 and intends to rely on the massive impact of the cult show to attract subscribers. And the leaders of Max France confirmed this Thursday that Friends will enter the Max France catalog on July 1, just after the end of its license on Netflix.
As a reminder, Max will cost in France 6 euros per month with advertising, and 10 euros as standard with two simultaneous streams and 14 euros in premium with four simultaneous streams.
