Laure Calamy and Jérôme Commandeur are filming in Las Vegas
The first film by Sarah Kaminsky, screenwriter of A Bear in the Jura, will be called Las Vegas Therapy.
After winning (with Franck Dubosc) the 2026 César for best screenplay for A bear in the JuraSarah Kaminsky goes behind the camera.
His first film will be called Las Vegas Therapy and will be worn by the duo Laure Calamy and Jérôme Commandeur, supported by Jérémie Renier and Noémie O’Farrell.
According to Metropolitan FilmExport, it will be a black comedy that will mix thriller, road movie and caustic humor.
Co-written with screenwriter and novelist Niko Tackian, the film takes its characters to the heart of the wide open spaces of Nevada and Utah. A spectacular setting for couples therapy that will quickly go off the rails. A comedy”joyfully fierce” in which “qfour endearing, outdated, terribly human characters. A road movie through the great American West.”
The synopsis details: “In Las Vegas, Jack (Jérémie Renier), a Frenchman converted into a wedding planner, and Mauricette (Noémie O’Farrell), his Quebec associate who is as trashy as a blue flower, welcome Philippe (Jérôme Commandeur) and Isabelle (Laure Calamy), a breathless couple who have come to rekindle the flame on the advice of their therapist. But when Jack discovers that the bride-to-be is his ex, the ceremony goes awry, the romantic road trip in the desert turns into a fiasco and the deaths pile up…“.
The cast also brings together American actresses Maureen Kedes and Kevin Scott Allen.
Produced in particular by Place du Marché, Declaration Studio and Davis Films, Las Vegas Therapy is distributed in France by Metropolitan FilmExport. Filming began on August 24 in the United States and takes place in the landscapes of Nevada and Utah.
