A city tower becomes a death trap: trailer for the terrifying Kraken

Kraken is already causing victims… in the room

Two spectators evacuated at the Kraken premiere: even before its release, the horror film by Chabane and Jourdain Rhodes has already claimed its first victims.

The monster is voracious. On screen anyway. He squats on a floor of an abandoned building in a city and terrorizes the entire neighborhood. But it’s not just on the web that he’s making victims. Last night, during the Paris premiere of Krakenthe first feature by Mohamed Chabane and Théo Jourdain Rhodes, two spectators had to be evacuated: two sick for a single screening. We couldn’t ask for a better teaser…

The promise was clear. A real genre film, effective, tense which offers a few jumpscares. “The new sensation of horror cinema”, trumpets the poster. They could also have said that “in the room, no one will hear us scream”. At the Grand Rex, on the other hand, everyone heard two bodies collapse. The closed session – five kids trapped in a large ensemble, a creature lurking on the floors – will therefore have had its effect and put the audience in awe.

Between the uninhibited gore (Gazo, who makes his debut as an actor, is happily manhandled) and the claimed slasher tension Verminthe film does not pull any punches. With this discomfort in the theater (a habit of the genre), Kraken has here its best certificate of authenticity: falling unconscious is worth five stars. Fainting almost acts as a quality label.

Enough to approach the September 30 release under the best auspices. Will Manon Bresch and Alassane Diong leave the building? In any case, the creature is already asking for its sequel.
