Grey’s Anatomy is definitely not about to hang up its white coat.

Shonda Rhimes’ medical series will return on October 15, 2026 on ABC in the United States for a 23rd season which promises, as always, its share of drama, high-risk operations and disasters of all kinds. Moreover, the first official teaser is already putting the doctors at Gray Sloan Memorial under pressure.

The video (watch below) reveals the disaster that will open the season. Faithful to its tradition, Grey’s Anatomy will once again send its characters to the heart of a major crisis situation: two planes collide on an airport runway, causing a massive influx of injured people to the hospital. Meredith Gray will be returning to Gray Sloan “just in time for chaos.”

Meanwhile, the series will inaugurate a new attraction within the hospital: a VIP floor, designed by Catherine Fox and Richard Webber. A novelty which risks creating new tensions, particularly when wealthy patients come to demand special attention from the surgeons at Gray Sloan….

Finally, the trailer also brings to the fore several sentimental intrigues left unresolved at the end of season 22. Amelia Shepherd, in particular, still finds herself at the center of a love triangle with Toni Wright and Cass Beckman. But the latter is conspicuous by its absence in these first images…
