What’s next for the Alien saga after Alien: Romulus?
While waiting for a new film, Ridley Scott’s franchise will be available on television.
Almost 50 years after its creation, the franchise Alien finds new life thanks to Alien: Romulus. Located in the timeline between Alien And Aliensthe return, the film of Fede Alvarez is already enjoying great success and could well get the machine going again. So when will the next one be?

No sequel has yet been announced by the Disney studio – which has held the rights to the Xenomorphs since it bought Fox. But we can imagine that a next installment would soon be on the rails, since the end ofAlien: Romulus opens this door: Rain and Andy manage to escape in the final act with a pregnant Kay, who has injected herself with the Prometheus file. At the end of the film, Rain Carradine records her ship’s log as captain, declaring that she is ready for whatever awaits her upon arrival. Clearly, Cailee Speanyhas the aura to carry new films Alien and seems well on the way to taking over from Sigourney Weaver. A new Ellen Ripley is on the way.
“I hope that Fede Alvarez has another project up his sleeve because I think it’s going to work really well“, he said recently Ridley Scott to the Los Angeles Times. The producer seems ready to put a coin back in the movie machine…
But until then, the rest of the story will be on television.Alien: Romulus. The new TV series Alien: Earth has just finished filming and will be released in 2025 in streaming (in France, it will be on Disney +).
Written and directed by Noah Hawleyto whom we owe the brilliant series Fargo And Legionthis series Alien will take place over three decades. It will not really be a sequel, but a prequel, whose story will take place before the events ofAlien, the eighth passenger (1979).
The casting will be carried by Sydney Chandler (the daughter of actor Kyle Chandler), and also by Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin and Timothy Olyphant.
