A few words of love: the trailer with Hafsia Herzi
A single mother helps her daughter find the trace of her father, whom she never knew.
More than ten years after his first feature film, The NewRudi Rosenberg presented his new film, A few words of lovelast May in Cannes, in the Un Certain Regard section.
It explores the relationships within a family where an absent father brings many issues to the surface. The subject of the quest is at the center of his film. A young girl sets out to find her father. It becomes an obsession. Her mother, who raises her alone with her brother, tries to help and support her in this task while trying to warn her of the dangers.
The trailer gives a first glimpse of this family quest. We can imagine the daily life of Erika and her children, carried by an energy that is both funny and very tender. Rudi Rosenberg brings the family to the screen as a cell where saying things to each other is sometimes complicated, where modesty has an important place.
If the role of the mother is played by Hafsia Herzi, the film’s cast is essentially made up of non-professional actresses and actors. Many residents of Sarcelles, the location of the filming, participated alongside young Nour Salam, who plays teenage Abigaëlle.
