A new Superman bites the dust! This DC series will end in 2024

Superman & Lois will end after season 4.

One again Superman to the mat! This time it’s the version Tyler Hoechlin which stops. The DC live-action series Superman & Lois will end with the upcoming fourth and final season. This season 4 will consist of 10 episodes, and will be released in 2024.

“Over the past three seasons, Superman & Lois has redefined both the superhero genre and the family drama as Tyler, Elizabeth and the entire cast have embodied these classic characters with new depths and complexity that had never been explored before in the universe of Superman, applauds Brad Schwartz, president of entertainment at CW. “We are grateful for their years of hard work and while Superman embarks on its final flight, the team leaves us with an absolutely epic, 10-episode, watch-every-minute farewell to one of The CW’s most legendary families.”

Still, we don’t know exactly why the series is ending. Certainly the arrival of a brand new Superman in James Gunn’s new DC Universe has something to do with it. It is David Corenswet who will take over the role of Clark Kent (after Henry Cavill) while Rachel Brosnahan will be his Lois Lane. In this context, in order to make a clean slate before the release of Superman: Legacy in July 2025 in cinemas, Warner Bros. certainly prefers to stop his other version of the superhero to avoid muddying the waters.

Superman & Loisdeveloped by Greg Berlanti and Todd Helbing, is broadcast in France on TF1.
