A title and a release date for the Ice Age 6
Warm in sight for Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Scrat and the whole band.
Disney took advantage of the event Destination D23 in Orlando to formalize the title and release date of the sixth opus of the cult prehistoric saga.
Ice Age 6 will be called Boiling Point in the original version, which could be translated as At the boiling point in French, or possibly Molten. In any case, it will be a question of opposition between hot and cold, possibly with a volcano, if we believe the official synopsis of this new episode:
“A crazy adventure full of dinosaurs and lava, which will lead Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Scrat and the whole band in still unexplored corners of the dangerous lost world.”
By the way, Disney reveals that the film will be released in theaters on February 5, 2027.
In November 2024, Disney and 20th Century Animation had already confirmed that the franchise was going to continue, with the return of the emblematic voices (in VO): Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary and Simon Pegg.
The latest film in the saga, Ice Age: the laws of the universe (Race collision), dates back to 2016 and had raised $ 408.5 million at the world box office. Since the first opus released in 2002, the franchise has given birth to four main suites, a spin-off and several short films on Disney+. In total, Ice Age generated $ 3.2 billion around the world.
It should be noted that the Blue Sky studio no longer exists. Disney had recovered control after the redemption of the Fox and chose to dissolve it in 2021. It was therefore 20th Century Animation which had found itself in the controlle Ice Age: Buck Wild’s adventuresreleased directly on Disney + in 2022. An interest -free film and massacred by criticism (19% on Rotten Tomatoes).
