Andor, season 2: Thierry Godard and the “French Touch” of the rebellion
Eight French actors have joined the cast of the Star Wars series for the plot that will be played on the planet Ghorman. And it’s no coincidence.
Things accelerate in Andor. While the Disney+ series continues its dark and political dive in the beginnings of the rebellion, a small French wind blows from episode 4 of season 2. Attention spoilers!
On the planet Ghorman, the rebellious alliance is organized in secret… and speaks with a hexagonal accent to cut with a knife. Because 8 actors from home strengthen the casting and land in the universe Star Warsembodying an inspired resistant cell – and it is no coincidence – French maquisards and Italian supporters of the Second World War. It must be said that Ghorman is not just a decor. It is a symbol. In the universe Star Warsthis planet is known for the “Ghorman massacre”, one of the catalysts of the rebellion against the Empire. The creators of the series wanted to: Ghorman’s people draw their spirit of resistance from the very real fights of European resistance fighters in the face of fascism.
An assumed inspiration and moreover, as a symbol, the leader of this underground resistance is embodied by a well -known face, that of Thierry Godard. Already in the fight against the German occupier in A French villagethe star actor ofGear is faced with another dark side in Andorgiving life to Lezine, a charismatic rebellious leader, seasoned and tired by the fighting.
