House of the Dragon Season 2: A Big Battle Is Brewing in Episode 4 (Trailer)
“We must lead the dragons to war.”
After the final revelation of episode 3, what does episode 4 have in store for viewers? A quick recap and new trailer to tease the sequel while waiting for the fourth episode of the second season of House of the Dragon.
Warning, spoilers!
The first pawns have fallen and others have moved in the last episode. The Dance of the Dragons now mobilizes all the noble houses of Westeros and knows its share of victims. While the Greens have attempted a breakthrough in the Riverlands in order to establish their power there, the Blacks have concentrated their efforts on a last agreement. Daemon, alone, conquered without much difficulty the impregnable city of Harrenhaal. For her part, Rhaenyra tried one last time (yes, this time, it was her last attempt) to prevent a conflict from breaking out. Meeting secretly with Alicent, her conclusion was clear: nothing will bring peace.
House of the Dragon, season 2: the end of episode 3 explained
Without harmony, what is left, if not war? While waiting to discover the consequences presented in a few days, Max has put online the trailer of the fourth episode. If you thought you had seen it all, expect the worst…
If there’s one thing to take away from this trailer, it’s that a major battle is coming, and anyone who tries to escape will end up under the sword of Ser Criston Cole—he who charges without fear, unlike the Queen’s brother Gwayne Hightower. This fight will apparently be fought both on land with equipped armies, and in the air. Rhaenys’ dragon Meleys and Vhagar, all fired up and led by his rider Aemond, can be seen flying overhead.
Rhaenyra warns: “We must lead the dragons to war”.
This battle, attentive readers of the novel Fire and Blood will have recognized her. First military face-off of the Dance of the Dragons, and especially first fight involving these famous creatures in both camps. So, can we expect a clash between Rhaenys and Aemond? One thing is certain, the outcome will be bloody and the human losses numerous on both the Green and Black sides.
Will even a king fall? Or is this another vision of Daemon bewitched by that mysterious woman in Harrenhaal?
This fourth episode marks the halfway point (already?) of season 2 of House of the Dragon. While Alicent recalls at the beginning of the trailer that it has only been a few weeks since her husband, King Viserys, died, we notice that the pace is much calmer than in the previous season. Calm, but no less impactful.
Episode 4 will be released on Monday, July 8 on Max.
