Apparently the Star Trek 4 movie is still on

The screenwriter assures that the project still exists, but even she has gone to do something else…

Announced almost two years ago, with the entire cast of the JJ Abrams trilogy, the film Star Trek 4 had been put on standby by Paramount, after the director, Matt Shakmanleft the ship to go film Fantastic Four from Marvel Studios. So that Chris Pine ended up saying that the project was “damn“.

And yet, Star Trek 4 is not dead ! Lindsey Beer, the screenwriter, assures in Collider that the project is still in progress at Paramount Pictures.

“It’s true, the film is still on track“, she assures before specifying that she herself took a step back to direct the new film Simetierre: the origins of Evil, which is out these days on Paramount +. She confides: “I love this project Star Trek 4 and difficult choices had to be made. But I like that everyone is involved in this project.”

We therefore understand that the film is still under development and that Paramount is continuing its search for a new director.
