Brad Pitt, Quentin Tarantino and David Fincher’s astronomical salaries for Cliff Booth film

With a budget of over $200 million, The Adventures of Cliff Booth is the second most expensive film ever produced by Netflix.

Netflix has spared no expense in The Adventures of Cliff Booth.

This is “the sequel” to Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, Brad Pitt reprises his role as Cliff Booth, stunt double for actor Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio). But this time his character is at the center of the plot.

As a reminder, the first part featured the adventures of television star Rick Dalton and his stuntman Cliff Booth, in distress in the face of the evolution of the film industry that they no longer recognize. At the same time, the film gave its own vision of the story of the murder of Sharon Tate by the Charles Manson “family”…

Let us be clear, Tarantino is not in charge of The Adventures of Cliff Boothit is directed by David Fincher, the filmmaker of Kill Bill is in charge of the screenplay… The director of The Game, Zodiac or even Gone Girl is back three years later The Killer. This is not the first time that he has directed Brad Pitt, already starring in Seven And Fight Club.

The film takes place in 1977, 8 years after the first opus.

40 million dollars for Brad Pitt, who produces and plays the main role, 20 million for David Fincher and for Tarantino, according to Matt Belloni… Between them, they therefore cost 80 million dollars… an expense entirely assumed by the streaming giant. Astronomical salaries which have exploded compared to the first part.

All told, the budget for the feature film amounts to more than $200 million.

It is Netflix’s second biggest production behind The Electric State (2025), which cost 320 million… Against 95 million dollars for Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood…

Plot details are not yet known, but a first trailer was revealed in February (see video below). In the casting, we will find alongside the star of Fight ClubElizabeth Debicki (Golden Globes for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for The Crown), Scott Caan (Bleu d’enfer) as well as Carla Gugino (The Fall of the House of Usher) and the young actor Corey Fogelmanis.
