The film of the day: Oslo trilogy: dreams by Dag Johan Haugerud
Dreams constitutes the first chapter of There Oslo trilogy Thought as a variation around the feeling of love, which we can discover in theaters throughout the month of July. And of these three films which can look at themselves independently and in any order, the one that has been rewarded by the Golden Bear 2025 is undeniably the best. We follow the first thunderbolt of the life of a 16 -year -old teenager, Johanne, for one of her teachers. A forbidden love told through several prisms, different and complementary because making the feeling, fantasies and reality dialogue. That of the Johanne’s intimate notebook which will become a literary object, his voiceover which comments on what you see on the screen, the reactions of her grandmother and her mother to discover what she slept on paper and that of the teacher who comes to confront the teenager’s mother. Of impressive fluidity, this story brilliantly explores the thousand and one ramifications that make a love story through female characters exciting in complexity and paradoxes.

The scenario of the day: Sorda from Eva Libertad Garcia
Angela and Hector love each other with a cloudless love for almost 3 years and are about to have their first child … without suspecting that this happiness will reveal flaws so far invisible in their relationship. Because Angela is deaf and hector hearing. And the arrival of this baby and his education will give birth to doubts at home. First of all on his ability to establish a link with her daughter that an examination reveals hearing and then by ricochet on the balance of his couple, Hector spontaneously spending more time with their child with whom he communicates more easily than she. Sorda tells with great finesse this chinese torture -like rocking. Where the accumulation of small wounds felt by Angela feeling referred to her condition (Hector’s relief when he learns that his daughter is not deaf …), first killed, will end up exploding.
The director Eva Libertad Garcia, inspired by the history of her sister also hardy, seized by her ability to go backwards from the idea of a maternity that would necessarily be happy and fulfilling. Thanks to a writing of characters who never rounds the corners and its ability to gradually immerse us in Angela’s head. And this in particular thanks to an amazing work on the sound which will gradually make us hear the world as Angela understands it. We physically feel his loneliness and the feeling of injustice in the face of a Hector yet loving but that the transition from a life to 2 to a life to 3 has also necessarily impacted. Awarded from the public prize to the Panorama section of the Berlin Festival and carried by the remarkable interpretation of Miriam Garlo, Sorda touch to the heart.

The cast of the day: Girls Désir of Principa Car
In 2018, Principa Car founded an alternative cinema school in Marseille with the ambition to integrate this art into the daily life of young people often kept away from culture due to economic or educational difficulties. And the adventure is already going beyond his dreams. With her students, she founded her own troop where everyone plays and participates in the writing of the various projects. And after a first short, Barcelonaselected in Clermont-Ferrand in 2019, they go into a long format with these Girls desire. And of which Prïncia Car wrote the structure with the screenwriter Léna Tuesday before improvising each scene with her actors, joined by a newcomer, the irresistible Lou Anna Hamon.
We follow the return to the Marseille city of Carmen, the childhood friend of Omar, an airy center instructor, respected by all. An ex-prostitutes who will shatter the small band (99% male) who surrounds her and especially their relationship hitherto rather primary to sex and love. Doped by the energy and the authenticity of its interpreters, the film amazes by its way of foiling absolutely all the clichés on men-women relationships among young people in these popular districts. Or more specifically to reinvent the codes through in particular an unexpected sorority which develops between the girlfriend of Omar and Carmen with whom the latter nevertheless deceived it, in place of the usual ranging of grabs. New voices that make a lot of good.
