Captain America 4 is not Falcon and the Winter Soldier season 2!
The new superhero with the shield, Anthony Mackie, is confident the film is “ten times bigger” than the MCU series.
The first images of Captain America 4: Brave New World screened during CinemaCon in Las Vegas last week show Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) in his new costume Captain America. A role with great responsibilities that he acquires at the end of the series Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He saves President Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross played by Harrison Ford who asks him to bring together the Avengers – finally a new generation.
If the events take place immediately after those of the series, for the main actor, we must not believe that Captain America 4: Brave New World is a season 2.
“One of the most important conversations we had early on was that this shouldn't be Falcon and the Winter Soldier – Part 2it has to be a film in its own right, with its own story and its own characters.”
Interviewed by the American media Entertainment Weekly, Anthony Mackie is categorical: the film is “ten times bigger” than the MCU series. That means more action, more stunts, more superheroes… in short, more of everything.
First introduced in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Sam Wilson, aka the Falcon has always been Steve Rogers' teammate, Captain America. Teammate, but never main character. Finally, it's his time to shine with a film in which he is the hero.
“Even though I've been in a bunch of these films (editor's note: from the MCU), and I've been around a bit, it's really on this film that I saw the opportunity for Sam to really establishing himself as a true action star and Avenger.”
For the moment, the synopsis is not official, but Anthony Mackie is already teasing what we can expect:
“This film is a reset. It clears up ideas about what this universe is and what it will be. I think with these films, it's clear what Marvel is heading towards, in the same way that they were able to do it with Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”
With a title evoking Aldous Huxley's dystopian novel, The Brave New World, Captain America 4: Brave New World, will have an enemy that fans don't expect. Good and evil will have a new definition. “There is a new frontier we must conquer…”
Its release in France is scheduled for February 12, 2025.
