Colin Firth at Guy Ritchie in the new Sherlock Holmes series
Young Sherlock will tell the story of the youth of the famous Baker Street detective, on Prime Video.
After breaking everything in Kingsman, Colin Firth get back into action with Sherlock. The English actor of Bridget Jones has just signed on to join the cast of the series Guy Ritchie dedicated to the early years of Sherlock Holmes.
Produced for Prime Video and directed by Ritchie himself, who previously directed the Sherlock Holmes in 2009 and 2011 with Robert Downey Jr., the series will be carried by Hero Fiennes Tiffin who would play the detective when he was in his twenties. Colin Firth will play Sir Bucephalus Hodge, a new character who does not exist in Conan Doyle.
In the rest of the cast, Joseph Fiennes And Natascha McElhone will play Sherlock’s parents.
The series, inspired by the novels Young Sherlock Holmes by Andy Lane, will be “an explosive reimagining of this iconic character“tease the synopsis. “At 19, disgraced Sherlock Holmes is raw, unfiltered and untrained when he finds himself embroiled in a murder mystery at Oxford University that threatens his freedom. Diving into his first case with a complete lack of discipline, Sherlock unravels a globe-trotting conspiracy that will change his life forever.”
Young Sherlock will be written and executive produced by showrunner Matthew Parkhill. No air date yet.
