Dean Cain sets foot in the dish and thus questions the modern reinterpretations of American icons, in the wake of the words of James Gunnwho described Superman like “The history of America”that “from an immigrant who also participates in building a nation”and as “A story that defends human kindness, a value that we have lost.”
The director assumed the political scope of his film. SO Dean Cain replied, admitting that “Superman is an immigrant, it is a certainty since it is literally an extraterrestrial”. But he believes that Gunn go too far and do “A mistake” in his reading of the character. For him, the natural kindness of Supermanwhom he considers to be his “weakness“, is an integral part of “Great values” of the hero. But he rejects the idea of a Superman symbolizing a pro-immigration discourse.
Relying on the famous hero’s slogan, “Truth, justice and the American way”Cain recognizes that this “way” is “Very welcoming to immigrants”but insists: “There are rules.” He continues: “You can’t come by saying ‘I want America to look like Somalia.’ It does not work.
A rhetoric that aligns with that of Donald Trumpof which Dean Cain is a fervent support. Since his re -election last January, Trump has made the fight against immigration a pillar of his policy, imposing drastic arrest quotas, revoking naturalizations, and multiplying expulsions.
