Disney unveils its next original animated film scheduled for 2026
It will be a story of magic around a teenager and his single mother, and it will be called Hexed.
Walt Disney Animation Studios revealed this weekend during the event Destination D23 In Orlando, the title and pitch of its next original feature film: Hexed.
This 65th classic animated studio was presented by Jared Bush, creative director of Disney Animation.
The realization was entrusted to Josie Trinidad (Zootopia+) and Jason Hand (Vaiana 2), while Roy Conli and Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster-Jones will officer as producers.
The official synopsis announces:
“An atypical clumsy adolescent discovers that what makes him unique could well be, in fact, magical powers. Accompanied by his mother, an organized and rigorous woman, he plunges into a secret world where magic exists on the fringes of daily reality. This discovery upsets their existence, but also a larger occult universe, mixing inset wonder and challenges.”
Hexed will be released in theaters in November 2026 and will be the first original in the studio since the disappointing Wish In November 2023 ($ 255 million in world box office revenue). It will be inserted between two assured hits: Zootopia 2 (release in November 2025) and The Snow Queen 3 (release in November 2027).
