Deprived of cinemas, the new film by James L. Brooks directed by Emma Mackey will arrive on the platform in a few days.

Ella McCay will not go through the cinema box in France. The new film by James L. Brooks was canceled at the last minute, after experiencing a scathing flop at the US box office last December.

Ella McCay was scheduled to arrive in our cinemas on January 7, 2026. Finally, the film will arrive directly on Disney Plus.

The platform announces a direct streaming broadcast in France on February 5, 2026.

Frenchwoman Emma Mackey (Sex Education) is the title heroine. To bring this intimate story to life, James L. Brooks surrounds himself with a cast that is as prestigious as it is eclectic. In the lead, Jamie Lee Curtis, Oscar winner for Everything Everywhere All at Onceand also Jack Lowden (Slow Horses), Kumail Nanjiani (Welcome to Chippendales) and Ayo Edebiri, dazzling revelation of The Bear.
