Emmanuel Karsen, the French voice of Sean Penn and Norman Reedus, died
A great dubbing gentleman, he had more than 250 credits to his credit.
The actor Emmanuel Karsen, famous for having been the official French voice of Sean Penn for three decades, died Thursday at the age of 62 from an illness, his agent Audrey Pécôme told AFP.
Actor and artistic director, he had lent his voice to more than 250 films, series and video games, among which Call of Duty.
He had started dubbing in the 1990s. He dubed in particular Sean Penn from The last step (1995) and continue to make his voice in France throughout his career. Emmanuel Karsen was also the voice of the survivor of The Walking DeadNorman Reedus, until the last episodes of season 3 of Daryl Dixonwhich barely starts on Paramount +.
Emmanuel Karsen had also doubled Brad Pitt during The army of the 12 monkeys (1995) – The best known voice of Brad Pitt in France remaining that of Jean -Pierre Michaël. Born Emmanuel Bourdeaux, he belonged to a large family of artists: nephew by Dominique Collignon-Maurin, French voice of Luke Skywalker, who died in early August, at 76.
