The MCU takes a step aside before the very serious Avengers: Doomsday and sends its heroes to a world where a zombie virus has ravaged the whole world.

Mini-series animated in 4 episodes, created by Bryan Andrews and Zeb Wells, Marvel Zombies is located in an alternative timeline, already introduced in the episode “What If … Zombies?!” broadcast in 2021.

In this new trailer, some of the most powerful characters in Marvel Studios-including Thanos, Captain America and many others-turn into deadly-hungry creatures hungry with human flesh. The fate of the world then rests on the shoulders of a small group of survivors, including Spider-Man. The video is also concluded on a sequence where Spidey launches the Stormbreaker Hache of Thor directly on zombified Thanos … without any effect.

The vocal cast of Marvel Zombies notably brings together Awkwafina (Katy), David Harbor (Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch), Randall Park (Jimmy Woo), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova) (Scott Lang/Ant-Man), Wyatt Russell (John Walker/Us Agent), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Hailee Steinfeld (Kate Bishop), Iman Vellani (Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel), Dominique Thorne (Riri Williams/Ironheart), Todd Williams (Eric Brooks/Blade Knight) and Hudson Thames (Peter Parker/Spider-Man), among others.

The official synopsis sums up: “After the Avengers were contaminated by a zombie epidemic, a desperate group of survivors discovers the key to put an end to the invasion of overpowered undead. Together, they cross a dystopian landscape, ready to risk their lives to save their world.”

Marvel Zombies, the new Marvel Animation series, on September 24 on Disney+.
